Just to refresh your memory, since I have been absent so long…we are on verse 10 of my little endeavor. Next time we will tackle the death of Christ and the importance it holds. Fitting during this upcoming season of Lent.

He was God who came to earth as a man.

And he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people. So his fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and pains, those oppressed by demons, epileptics, and paralytics, and he healed them.

To what extent is knowledge of the life and teachings of Jesus relevant to the 21st century? Existential theologians have driven such a wedge between the Christ of faith and the Jesus of history that the latter has ceased to have any importance for them.
