Cinquain Verse 12 - Its Almost Easter

We are in the season of Lent. It is supposed to be a time of somber reflection of our transgressions. I chose the word transgression because the word sin has become a shut off button. People who have erased "the God concept" think there is no such thing and immediately stop listening. But I like the word transgression, it explains sin. This is one dictionary's definition of transgression:

Verb: transgress ♫ tranz'gres

1. Act in disregard of laws, rules, contracts, or promises

"transgress all laws of humanity"

2. Spread over land, especially along a subsiding shoreline

"The sea transgresses along the West coast of the island"

3. Commit a sin; violate a law of God or a moral law

4. Pass beyond (limits or boundaries)

I particularly like 1 and 4. That to me is sin, a disregard of...when we sin we go beyond the set limits (rules) that God had originally designed.

The main point being that if God did create everything, He alone has the right to set boundaries.

What does this have to do with resurrection? Well, it proved that God has power over death, it was the final act of Christ's mission on earth to make a way for us back into fellowship with God. Take a look at a few verses concerning Christ resurrection and what it has to do with us (emphasis mine):

Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy Scriptures,
concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh
and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations...
Romans 1:1-5 (ESV)

“Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses. Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says, “ ‘The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.’ Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.” Acts 2:29-36 (ESV)

If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.
But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
1 Corinthians 15:19-26(ESV)

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1 Peter 1:3-5 (ESV)

It wasn't enough to die for us, the hope we have lies in the fact that Jesus had power over death and lived again. We will be resurrected in heaven in the end by that same power.
