Who is the holy spirit? The bible is literally FILLED with references to the Spirit of God or the Spirit of the Lord. There are far too many to list but here are a few:
The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find a man like this, in whom is the Spirit of God?” and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, with intelligence, with knowledge, and with all craftsmanship, Now the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and a harmful spirit from the LORD tormented him. 1 Samuel 16:14 (ESV) as long as my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils, Job 27:3 (ESV) The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life. And while Peter was pondering the vision, the Spirit said to him, Behold, three men are looking for you. And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit. The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. Romans 8:9 (ESV) For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. Romans 8:14 (ESV) For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
