September 8. 2010 2 Chronicles 17, 18, 19

Spurgeon's Morning devotion was about how the fruit we produce comes only from being connected to the stalk, the minute we are totally disconnected we die. The chapters I read today in 2 Chronicles illustrated that.

Chapter 20 has so many great mini lessons too, like:

  • The fact that God's name was in the house of the Lord. If you remember Solomon had that wonderful speech about the fact that God did not need a house to live in and there was nothing good enough for Him but the temple was a place where His Name would live.
  • We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You
  • Don't be dismayed at the great horde, for the battle is not your's but God's.
  • Stand firm, hold your position and see the salvation of the LORD on your behalf...

The end of Jehosaphat...how could you be so steady on one hand and yet use the other one to hold with the devil? Sounds a lot like me...

Three messy sheep backgrounds.
