Josiah was an amazing king but did not listen in the end. Why? Was he bored or haughty or was it just his time? He was very popular with the people and remembered to this day. I have another question, why did he say that the priests did not have to carry the ark on their shoulders? Think of this too, many of those priests and Levites would have been through the rebuilding and restoring of the temple and devotion to God before. Follow, don't follow, follow, don't follow. Did they not have the guts to keep it right during the don't follow times?
