June 9, 1 chronicles 16 - to invoke, to thank, and to praise the LORD, the God of Israel 1 Chronicles 16:4 (ESV)

I think the above is a pattern of worship we should think more deeply about. Invoke...bring to remembrance, thank and praise.

When I read through multiple Psalms it seems they tend to go this way. Even the ones that seem to focus on pleas of help turn into that. And just check out the ones that end with those pleas or reminding God of His promises, the next chapter will continue with those elements that David directed the Levites to perform in 1 Chronicles 16:4.

The Psalm 145 attribute from list which I mentioned in an earlier post  (I am determined to mention at least one of these each post this summer) that I am observing is that God's Kingdom is everlasting:

For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and he is to be held in awe above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but the LORD made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his place.
1 Chronicles 16:25-27 (ESV)
Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting!” Then all the people said, “Amen!” and praised the LORD.
1 Chronicles 16:36
